Check Out Om Yoga and Meditation Workshop for $4.89

Om Yoga and Meditation Workshop Review

This product is very cool and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to incorporate meditation into their yoga practice. It DVD is divided into 4 sections - each with a 15 minute meditation lesson and a 15 minute complete yoga practice. The final section also contains a guided meditation by David, which is a neat way to tie everything together you learn in the earlier sections. There is also a music CD in the box for your own personalized practice. Both David and Cyndi are amazing, warm teachers who make yoga and meditation approachable and fun. Another great product from OM!

There is way too much talking and detailed explanations. If you're looking for a quick yoga exercise, this DVD is not for you.

not om yoga FAST YOGA !!! - ****katherine***** - USA
i love yoga and am welling to try new styles of yoga I had borrow this DVD from a studio I was not happy - i guess I like to take my time with yoga and really feel everything ! I have done yoga only at the studio with a group and i wanted to take my practice home So I thought this DVD would help well it wasn't helpful they rushed everything it wasn't even POWER YOGA! They didn't let you enjoy the breathing or letting you stay in poses they had a like 3 ppl and the teacher and they went so fast! Also the meditation was NOT meditation it was this FAST 2min breathing and then they moved on!!! I wouldn't pay for this DVD

Horrible - Sonia J. Price -
Just horrible, you don't get a good yoga practise every segment is so short that just when you start to warm up it is over.

Practicing Yoga at Home

Yoga is a science, thousands of years old. There are no fitness programs, exercise routines or medical breakthroughs that can match the power of yoga. Practicing Yoga requires only an open mind and a desire to improve. While it is highly recommended to practice with a teacher, real Yoga can only be practiced alone. The real Yoga teacher is inside. The perfect practice includes communication with a teacher and constant self-exercise that builds confidence, discipline and facilitates advancement.

Practicing Yoga at home has numerous benefits, but how do you approach this without a teacher?

Until your mastery of Yoga routines allows you to perform asanas without referencing others there are some tools that may help in establishing a successful home practice.

Yoga DVDs

When selecting a yoga program, pay attention to the quality of the product. Make sure your DVDs do not make any empty promises, or offer instant cures for weight loss, stress relief etc. Remember, all this must come from the inside, naturally. A great Yoga DVD must be hosted by a real instructor with a goal to spread knowledge and not to sell as many discs as possible. Also, pay attention to the structure of the DVD's menu, ideally it must allow to build a personalized routine, with different lengths of practice as options. A guided meditation at the end of practice is a very important feature of any good Yoga DVD.

Yoga Books

My suggestion is to read the essential books on Yoga philosophy on a regular basis. These books, like the Bible, are fountains of wisdom, knowledge and answers to all questions. Continue reading The Yoga Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita and The Heart of Yoga throughout your entire life and gradually peace of mind will come and certain realizations will change you forever. These books will help your Yoga practice tremendously.

Music

Most music played today is commercial, created to capitalize on our weaknesses and generate as much profit as possible. This kind of music requires high volume, as it is incapable of reaching us on subtle levels. We must be deafened, destroyed and overpowered before we surrender to pop, mostly against our natural desires. Spiritual, natural, real music on the other hand has amazing powers and may benefit your Yoga practice as much as performing asanas. Artists such as Krishna Das, Jai Uttal and Deva Premal create beautiful music that reaches deeps inside and purifies our minds and bodies.

Practicing Yoga at the comfort of your own home has great benefits and should become a part of your daily routine if you are serious about self-improvement.

Prepare to Be Astounded by the Results of This Free Detox Program From the Real Deal System

In this article we offer you a low strength weekend detox that you can try for yourself. It is a great introduction into what a detox entails and it will leave you feeling more energised and alive! This detox could also be used once a month to give your system a break from its normal routine.

When undertake a detox you can experience some side effects such as mood swings, flu like symptoms and headaches. If you do experience any of these, just remember that they are a healthy sign that the detoxification process is working and they will soon pass....

Try not to use any medications to combat the side effects and just let them take their course. Drinking lots of bottled water will help speed up the process of flushing the toxins out. Wrap yourself up, take plenty of soothing baths or showers, rest and relax with a favourite book or film.

In the week leading up to the detox:

Start cutting back on caffeine drinks, alcohol, fizzy drinks, all dairy products, sugar, meat, fish, eggs, ready made meals, all wheat products, fried food, margarine and salt. Buy all the food products and fruit and vegetables that you will be using for the weekend (see later paragraphs).

Prepare your collection of magazines, books, CD's and films that you will be treating yourself to. Most importantly prepare yourself mentally so that you know that this is 'your' weekend, for you to chill out without any distractions (if possible!) from kids, husbands/wives and friends.

Friday night:
Eat a light meal, such as a salad, a bowl of soup or some lightly steamed vegetables. Avoid bread, caffeine and alcohol, as these will add extra stress to your body. Take some psyllium capsules or linseeds to help the bowels eliminate the toxins that will be released. A face and neck massage will remove any stored tension and help you to get a good nights sleep. Go to bed early.

Day 1 (Saturday):
Wake up slowly knowing that today is your day. Make yourself a hot lemon drink by adding hot water to the freshly squeezed juice of 1/2 a lemon. Sip slowly and imagine it cleansing and clearing as it goes. Lemons are a great detox ingredient as they cleanse the liver and help flush toxins from the body with their diuretic properties. They also help balance stomach acids. Start your day by brushing your skin to remove surface skin cells and follow this with a shower or bath.

Breakfast. A large bowl of fruit is a healthy way to kick start the day. Fruit is easy to digest and will give the liver a boost. Try a variety of chopped fruits and add a handful of pumpkin, sunflower and/or flaxseeds to add interest and crunch. These supply a boost of essential fatty acids.

Snack time should consist of fruit or nuts (raw and unsalted!).

Lunch time. This should be a large salad with a variety of different leaves to add different flavours. You can add any of the following to the salad: alfalfa sprouts, avocado, bean sprouts, carrots, celery, chickpea sprouts, courgette, watercress, cucumber, lentil sprouts, mustard sprouts, radish, peppers (red, green and yellow), spring onions and tomatoes. Nuts and/or seeds can be used for added interest, as could fresh herbs (basil, chervil, chives, coriander, mint and parsley).

Evening meal. Lightly steam vegetables of your choice, drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle on some fresh herbs. Choose a variety of vegetables such as broad beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, courgette, leek, runner beans, spinach, spring greens and sugar snap peas.
In between meals. Herbal tea or water should be drunk to help flush toxins from the body. Below is a guide to how you could fill your day:

8am: Wake up and sip your hot lemon and water drink.
8.15am: Dry brush your body, followed by a shower or bath.
9am: Eat a large bowl of fruit for breakfast.
9.30am: Use one of our facial treats *.
10.30am:Relaxation time. Grab a good book or magazine and just chill out.
1pm: Salad lunch.
2-4pm: Take some exercise. Try doing a DVD yoga workout or go for a walk.
4.30pm: Treat your hands to some TLC! Why not try one of our manicure and hand massages *.
6pm: Lightly steam vegetables of your choice for your evening meal.
7.30pm: Try some meditation.
8.30pm: Wind down your first day by treating yourself to a bath and one of our body scrubs *.

Day 2 (Sunday):
Make yourself a hot lemon drink. Sip slowly and again imagine it cleansing and clearing as it goes. You have made it through day one and there is only one day to go. Brush your skin again to remove surface skin cells and follow it by a shower or bath to remove any toxins that may have been sweated out over night.

Breakfast. A large bowl of fruit or you could make a fruit smoothie. A smoothie consists of adding fruit of your choice to ½ litre of Soya milk and blending it. Good choices would be apricots, bananas, blueberries, loganberries, nectarines, peaches, pears, raspberries and strawberries.

Snack time. Should consist of fruit or nuts (raw and unsalted!).

Lunch time. Again a large salad but use a different combination of ingredients to yesterday.

Evening meal. Lightly steam vegetables of your choice, drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle on some fresh herbs. Choose different vegetables to yesterday.

Between meals. Keep those fluids going to flush out toxins.
A suggested schedule looks like this:

8am: Wake up and sip your hot lemon and water drink.
8.15am: Dry brush your body and follow this with a shower or bath.
9am: Eat a large bowl of fruit or have a fruit smoothie for breakfast.
9.30am: Use one of our hair treats *, such as the lemon hair de-gunker followed by hair food.
10.30am:Alternate nostril breathing *.
1pm: A salad lunch.
2-4pm: Take some exercise and do some light stretching.
4.30pm: Treat your feet to some TLC! Try one of our foot scrubs, a pedicure and foot massage*.
6pm: Lightly steam vegetables of your choice for your evening meal.
7.30pm: Meditation.
8.30pm: Wind down your second day by treating yourself to an oatmeal bath *.

Day 3: (Monday, ending your weekend detox):
Resist the temptation to grab a coffee, a bar of chocolate or a glass of wine! You have just cleaned out some of your toxins and you should be feeling better so don't go and spoil it all by overloading your system as it recovers. Take fruit again for breakfast but add a slice of wholemeal bread if you need something more. Take a light lunch, such as a salad and jacket potato. For the evening meal stir fry some vegetables with rice or couscous. Continue with herbal teas and plenty of water.

And that is all that is involved in a basic low strength detox!

Check Out Yoga Zone - Sunrise & Sunset for $4.25

Yoga Zone - Sunrise & Sunset Review

I've had several Yoga Zone DVDs in my collection for some time. I love the 20-minute practice format, esp on busy weekdays when I simply cannot get to an evening class. I've done both PM programs several times; they are challenging, but not so difficult that you can't do both, if time allows. Recently, I opted for the first "Sunrise" practice (there are two of each) as an alternate to Rodney Yee/Patricia Walden AM/PM Yoga. As I get older, I definitely notice a tendency to have a stiff back in the morning, and these practices work wonders. They are gentle enough for the morning, but also energizing, a great start to the day. The evening practices contain lots of hip openers etc, which are great after a long day of sitting at a desk. As always, YZ instructors are thorough and engaging. Will make a nice addition to your yoga DVD collection.

Great AM & PM yoga - V. Luedecke - Italy
I love being able to squeeze 20 minutes of yoga in my busy life as a mom of 2 young kids and starting the day with the sunrise part is just wonderful! I feel energetic and ready for the day!
Same goes with the sunset part; it's not boring like so many other PM yoga DVDs, but yet it leaves you nicely relaxed afterward.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any of the Yoga Zone DVDs!

great video - S. R. Braun - Leeds. ND
I have many different yoga tapes and find this one very relaxing and invigorating. I have done it every morning before work and it starts my day off just right!

Nice little DVD - C. Klar -
This is not a bad DVD for the time crunched. Twenty minutes each segment.
The only complaint I have is that the Sunset segment is not about winding down and relaxing. It seems just as energetic as the Sunrise. But they are both very good and together they make a nice practice.
